Community Planning and Zoning

Develop community master plans, recreation plans, and zoning ordinances.  Have participated in the planning process with a variety of municipalities of all sizes throughout Michigan over the past 30 years.  Have been an advocate of GIS as a planning tool.  Assist communities with the proper documentation and record keeping for zoning applications and permits.

Site Plan Review

Assist municipal clients in review of site plans, development applications and the approval process.

Public Participation

Represent client's interests before the public at meetings, hearings and general information sessions.  Present findings, initiate discussion and coordinate public participation in the planning process.  Prepare consumer and merchant questionnaires and conduct interviews for use in research.

Development Projects

Routinely provide research and documentation for developers seeking zoning approval or assistance in obtaining permits and approvals.  Represent client's interests before the public at meetings, hearings and general information sessions.

Economic Development

Analyze business plans;  prepare cost-benefit analysis, and public financing alternatives such as grants, loans and bonds.  Have prepared market studies and economic development strategies.

Downtown Development

Have assisted in the creation of Downtown development authorities and served as coordinator for numerous projects with DDA's involving planning, financing and project development.
